The celebration of the liturgy is about the worship of God, first and foremost. Therefore, all of the elements of the liturgy are carefully regulated by the laws of the Church and guarded by the priests of the parish.
Those who assist the priests in executing the liturgy are ministers specially deputized by the authority of the Pastor. The Church requires that all ministers* be eligible to exercise liturgical ministry according to the following requirements:
Boys and girls in grade 5 and up are needed to serve at the altar on Sunday and weekday Masses, weddings, and funerals.
Contact the parish office for more information.
Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion exercise a sacred function in distributing the Eucharist to the congregation. They are responsible for ensuring that the Lord is received reverently by all who present themselves and ensure that the Sacred Host is not mishandled. Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion receive sufficient spiritual, theological, and practical preparation to fulfill their role with knowledge and reverence. Please contact the parish office to sign up for training.
Proclaim the Word of God at Sunday and Holy Day Liturgies. Familiarity with Scripture and the ability to read well is necessary. A short training session is required.
